else的用法：

1、else的基本意思是“另外的”“別的”“除去”“其他”。有時也可表示“否則”“要不然”，它是or else省略or的用法。

2、在日常口語中， else有時用在句中僅起強調作用，而實際上它並沒有增添什麼新意思。

3、else用來修飾疑問代詞（who, whose, what, whoever, whatever）或疑問副詞（why, when, where, how），以及以any-, every-, some- 合成的複合不定代詞和much, little, all, a great deal等數量詞。

4、在句中作後置定語，但在which後不可用else。

5、當all, a good〔great〕 deal, a lot, a little, much等與else連用作主語時，謂語動詞須用單數形式。

6、當else後面跟着but, except或besides和一個賓語時， else是多餘的，應刪去。

other及其變化形式在初中教材中多次出現，而且它的變化形式很多，有以下幾種：the other, others, the others, another 等。它們的用法現歸納如下；

4.the others意思是“其他東西，其餘的人”。特指某一範圍內的“其他的（人或物）”。是the other的複數形式。如：

5.another=an+ other，既可作形容詞，也可作代詞，只能用於三個或更多的人或物，泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個”，只能代替或修飾單數可數名詞。如：
